The tricpes do the opposite of the biceps. While the biceps bend your elbow, the triceps are responsible for straightening the elbow. They also rotate the forearm to the palm-down position.
Throwing a frisbee, pole vaulting, or any overhanded throw uses the contraction of your triceps. Swinging a hammer and hitting a backhanded tennis stroke do too.
